Reworked chassis for quieter motorway cruising. High standard spec and second hand values are average.

Well built and reliable, High mileages aren't a propblem if regularly serviced.  Steering and gear-change are precise, handling and ride are improved over the previous 900.

Excellent driving position and plenty of rear room,  big boot, Driver, passenger and side airbags are standard, including ABS. 

Revisions in Sept 2000: 2.2 TiD engine uprated to 125 bhp. All 2.0t 150 bhp cars have revised gear ratios. Base 2.0t and 2.2 TiD have standard air conditioning and alarm. SE models have carbon fibre fascia (also on Aero), cloth/leather trim, and five-spoke 16" wheels. Convertible range continues after launch of new 9-3 in Sept 02. Revisions: new interior trim, including two-tone seat inlays and door panels. 'Mix and match' fascia panels in walnut, carbon fibre or teflon.

Saab 9-3 2.0i = Wash/wipe headlamps, electric/heated door mirrors, split/folding rear seats, ski flap, RDS audio.

Saab 9-3 S = CD with steering wheel controls, rear spoiler, uprated interior / instruments

Saab 9-3 SE = 15" 10-spoke alloy wheels, front foglamps, leather gear knob/gaiter/steering wheel, wood veneer fascia.

Saab 9-3 SE Sport = 16" 3-spoke alloy wheels, colour-coded body kit, front and rear bumper extensions, chrome oval exhaust tailpipe, leather upholstery.
